Fast... Clean... Harmless

In order to protect your vehicle from further damage, PDR Star implemented an alternative to the most widely-used process of recording hail damage images. Typically dents and minor damages are circled with paint markers during the initial damage inspection. PDR Star found that these circles were etching minor scratches into the clear coat of the vehicle. The dragging of any material across a painted surface is likely to scratch the clear coat unless the vehicle is 100% clean of surface dust or dirt. In addition, this process requires the unnecessary labor of cleaning off or removing circles.

The damage caused by this process usually remains unnoticed to the average vehicle owner. It takes a trained eye to identify the damage. If your vehicle is due for repair, we highly recommend that you ask your repair center to not circle the damage to your vehicle unless it is to be repainted.

PDR Star uses Damage Points, which are designed to identify and “point” out damaged areas on vehicles. Minor scratches and dents are unidentifiable in pictures without proper lighting. Damage Points are a fast, easy solution for this problem. The protective plastic “point” makes minimal contact with the damaged panel resulting in a fast and harmless process for recording picture images. Damage Points contain recessed magnets, which provide zero contact with your vehicle's sheet metal, preventing harmful scratches.

Instructions:

GREEN POINTS

Panels with less than 20 dents have GREEN points placed in the center of each dent.

Example:
16 Dents on a door panel would be identified by 16 GREEN damage points.
5 Dents on a Fender would be identified by 5 GREEN damage points.

ORANGE POINTS
Panels with more than 20 dents are identified with ORANGE points.
The total number of dents is multiplied by 10%.

Example:
100 dents on a panel will have a small cluster of 10 ORANGE Damage Points placed in the center of dents.
For odd dent counts round down to the closest 10th.

Example:
168 Dents on a panel would have a cluster of 16 ORANGE Damage Points. In this example you could quickly identify in the picture image that there are from 160-170 dents on this panel.
33 Dents on a panel would have only 3 ORANGE Damage Points, quickly identifying 30-40 dents on the panel.

For identifying damage to glass and non-metallic exterior parts use the suction cup end of the Damage Points and depress points on or near damaged area.
